After tonight’s game against the San Antonio Spurs, we won’t see the Boston Celtics play basketball until Thursday, Feb. 20. That game will be against the Philadelphia 76ers.
After a 6 week (or so) stretch of questionable basketball, the Celtics have turned on the jets as the All-Star break emerged on the horizon. They’re 6-1 over the last two weeks. During those 14 days, they’re 4th in defensive rating (110.3) and 8th in offensive rating (121.6) — not too shabby considering the concerns we all had during December and January.
With a much-needed break in the schedule less than 24 hours away (for the Celtics) I thought it would be a good time to look at some of the numbers from the two-thirds of the season that has passed.
So, let’s dive into some magic numbers — p.s. I like this format as a mid-way and end-of-season look at what the team is doing well.
